Project '49 Chevy

Due to the hiqh-quality photos,

this page will take a little time to download.

Kevin found this Pickup in some old mans pecan orchard.  It is an all original '49 Chevy Pickup.  Straight six, 3 speed on the column.  Very good condition for the price, $1100.

This is me cleaning it up right after we brought it home.

This is the motor.  It was frozen stiff when we got it.  But after a couple cans of oil and a little persuasion, it broke loose.  Runs great now.

Kevin took the truck with him to Fort Worth when he moved there in January.  He is now getting serious about restoring it.

Here is a pic of the stripped cab.

Here is a front end shot.  With grill and bumper removed.

Here is Kevin (Homealone) getting picture crazy.  The '49 in the background.

Here the truck is completely stripped.

Kevin finally has a garage to work in.  So he wanted to show it off.

This is the interior without the carpeting and seat.

Off to a good start.  Kevin's taken off the fenders, hood, and grill.

Here it is with the doors off.

On the way to the NEW home of HomeAlone Industries.

The New home of HomeAlone industries.  Its an airplane hanger.

Kevin got his hands on a soda blaster.

Quick and easy removal of the old paint.

As Kevin says, "Sodium bicarbonate is good."

He's going to have lots of fun with this.

The bed taken off.

Cab is clean and ready for paint.

Clean Cowl.

Pre-Soda Blasting of the dash.

Post Soda Blasting of the dash.

Wow! Why paint it. Just shoot some clear on it.

First coat of primer.

Second coat of primer.

These are two Ford 9 inch rear ends Kevin purchased.  One is going in the '49, the other will go to Kevin's friend.
