Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to reread how motivation theory is currently deployed. We contend that motivation theory fails to consider addictions (sex, alcohol, work, consumption, domination, etc.). We work and live in addicted organizations, embedded in an addicted society, in the addicted global economy. Who has never worked in a hostile work environment, a corporate culture fed on fear?
